Q: Why did you fork_ A: I wanted changes that would not be acceptable to the distribution I had chosen. Q: Why didn't you try to get your changes implemented into that distribution_ A: I watched others attempt it. Plus I like doing this. Q: Your background is Linux, what makes you think you can just stroll into the BSD camp and stir things up_ A: I don't see this as stirring things up. I want a BSD that acts and feels like something that no one has done. That's all. Nothing more. Q: I dig the silhouette Daemon. Can I get something with him on it_ A: Yes. has T-shirts and stuff. Q: It's still in alpha testing. How can you start selling stuff already_ A: Here's the deal - ekkobsd is hosted on a machine that likes to fall over A LOT. All funds from the t-shirts and stuff are going to get a new server. Once the new server is in place, the funds will go into paying for the colo, buying new machines to build ekkoBSD on, and some day, allowing for a group of people to work on ekkoBSD full time. |
